The day I looked through the travel itinerary was the day that I started researching all the different tourist attractions we would be visiting in Galway, Athlone, and Dublin. In Galway we went on a tour where we learned about the history of Ireland and explored the countryside area of outer Galway. We stopped at Dungaire castle which was such a beautiful attraction. It was located near the water which was amazing. We also went on to visit the Cliffs of Moher which is such a beautiful attraction to visit and is a must when traveling to Ireland. Even though it was so windy over there, I had to click pictures to post on Instagram. There is a reason why so many movies e.g., Harry Potter are filmed over there.
In Athlone after our Ericsson site visit, we visited Sean’s Bar which is one of the oldest Pub’s not only in Dublin but debatably in the world! Sean’s Bar has an official dating of 900AD and was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records for holding that record.
In Dublin, we visited the EPIC museum and the Guinness Storehouse. The EPIC museum was very different from the other museums I have visited in the past mainly because it was very interactive. The museum was mainly about the Irish diaspora and emigration to other countries which was very interesting to learn about. The museum reminded me of when Dubai hosted EXPO 2021 because of all the interactive displays and videos. Also, because it was very dark inside the museum. We received passports and stamped every area of the museum that we visited. I liked having that because it engages visitors.
Visiting the Guinness Storehouse was the best way to end the trip. Over there I was able to learn the process of fermenting beer, the history of Guinness, and got to try a sample of Beer that was just brewed. I loved all the souvenirs that they had to offer and did buy my dad a special birthday present from there. Overall, it was a cool experience to visit the Guinness Storehouse.
