I decided to participate in the Sustainability on Trial: Environmental Justice in Northern Europe Signature Seminar as I knew it would be the perfect way to start my abroad semester. This will also be my first time in a while taking a Geography based class, as I have not completed many of my Arts & Science requirements, due to my dual major. I never had the chance to take Geography early on as a freshman student due to scheduling conflicts. I planned to take all of my Arts & Science requirements abroad. Having GEO 304 as well as my courses in the London Center provides me with a diverse combination of courses for my abroad experience.

With one of my majors in Information, Management and Technology combined with my hobby for traveling, this experience will encourage me to discover what sustainability is like in parts of Northern Europe as well as how ‘green cities’ and ‘ecotourism’ play a part. Having experience living in Dubai, UAE, in a dessert climate, I didn’t have the opportunity to explore a Tundra climate that I will got to experience in the winter in Scandinavia. From this experience, I was able gain is an understanding of how the current environmental crisis around the world impacts Nordic communities and how we can learn about sustainable solutions to cure the crisis.
